We are delighted to have teamed up with Cork Cancer Care Centre as our charity partner this season for the Sixty Minute Restyle.
The Cork Cancer Care Centre is a voluntary Cancer Support Group for women and men who have been directly or indirectly affected by cancer, their carers, families and friends. The Centre is all about fun and fighting spirit. Together we can support each other, remain positive and most of all keep smiling!
The Cork Cancer Care Centre offers a ‘home away from home’ where members and their families can come for free counselling, holistic therapies, workshops, complimentary therapies and general support in a positive and uplifting environment.
They provide Blankets of Hope which are delivered free to all oncology wards. These blankets are hand knitted or crocheted and to date they have supplied 12,708 blankets.
They also provide the only wig bank in Ireland, this is where they prepare ladies for fitting of their wig or turbans, hats and scarves; all free of charge.
See their website for more details: http://www.corkcancercarecentre.ie/
One of the sources of funding for the delivery of its services is through its Girls Club Charity Shop on 14 Academy Street in Cork. They would welcome good quality donations of nearly new clothing from 60 Minute Restyle clients at Mahon Point Shopping Centre.
