This month’s guest blog comes from Eimear Hutchinson, a mum of two girls and a Civil Engineer who works full-time in Agricultural Research. We asked Eimear to write about the free Personal Shopper Service in Debenhams Mahon Point. “On Saturday I had an appointment with Yvonne, one of the personal shoppers in Debenhams in Mahon Point. We met up at 11am and kicked off by chatting through what I wanted to get from the appointment. Yvonne was so incredibly warm, kind and friendly that I felt like I had just sat down with an old friend for an informed chat about clothes, now who wouldn’t love that! I have a wedding coming up and I would say that I’m stuck in a style rut that sees me erring on the side of demure for weddings as I find myself adopting the mantle of Mummy more often that simply classifying myself as a young woman in my (very!) early thirties. So with this in mind, Yvonne set off to find some clothes to take me out of my rut and to take that hemline up a little. All the clothes I tried were from Coast and I paired everything with a gorgeous pair of nude pumps from Nine West, which of course had to be mine in the end. The next one and a half hours absolutely flew – I tried on lots of outfits, we discussed them, I posed in them, I felt comfortable in them and I felt glamorous in them. I constantly remarked how most of the outfits were items I never would have gravitated towards had I been left to my own devices. I also matched the different outfits with bags and pieces of jewellery.”
“I also got fitted for a bra by a trained specialist, again another service that was free of charge. I’ve been up and down through the sizes over the years between pregnancies and breastfeeding. This was great to finally clear up what size I am and free up some space in my lingerie drawer for all the ill-fitting bras I own.”
“I left that appointment with a smile on my face. The whole experience comes highly recommended and this is a service I think absolutely everyone could benefit from. Personally, I would have thought I knew what my style was but after Saturday I’ve come to realise that style is ever evolving and it’s good to mix things up and get some wise, impartial advice. If you’ve got a wedding coming up or any big event this is the place for you, if you don’t like shopping and you just want someone else to do it for this is the place for you and if you want to change things up and give yourself a new lease of life, well then, this is the place for you.”

Another great experience that even the most seasoned of beauty addicts can benefit from as the girls are great for imparting their tips and tricks as they work through your new look. I was lucky enough to receive a fabulous hamper from Clarins to thank me for taking the time to come and experience the Personal Shopping service which, truth be told, was my pleasure anyway!”
